TMJ

We at Suburban have a TMJ / TMD expertise based on many mentors, including Rocabado, Krauss, Heir, Gotlieb, Mormile, and referring Oral Surgeons and Dentists.

We enjoy the challenges and rewards of working with the sensitive needs of people coping with or recovering from TMJ / TMD related disorders. In addition to mandibular function specifically, we consider our expertise to be strong in postural related concerns often referred to as "the upper quadrant or quarter."

In reviewing the history of our patients, we often become aware of "forward head posture syndromes" that manifest in a variety of symptoms; including headaches, neck (cervical) pain, shoulder blade (scapula)pain, thoracic outlet syndrome ( TOS ), shoulder joint ( Gleno-humeral and Acromio-clavicular joint regions ) aches and pains, eye pain, anterior neck pain, and shoulder impingement problems causing rotator cuff and biceps tendonitis injuries. Breathing efficiency and swallowing may benefit from postural instruction. Tension headaches and face pain may be related to TMJ / TMD and postural dysfunction mechanisms.
